Customer Value Map - 6 principles
Definition
The Customer Value Map, developed by Strategyzer (Alexander Osterwalder, 2012), is a tool used to design, test, and refine value propositions that match customer needs. It’s a zoom-in on two blocks of the Business Model Canvas: Customer Segments and Value Propositions.
It helps ensure product-market fit by aligning what you offer with what your customer really cares about.
Benefits
- Clarifies customer needs, pains, and expectations
- Aligns your product/service with real demand
- Enhances product design, marketing, and messaging
- Reduces risk of launching irrelevant solutions
